Dan Fleury

Dan Fleury is a New England–based trumpet player and educator, whose work spans higher education, public school music programs, and professional performance throughout the region. He currently serves as Director of the Jazz Band at Endicott College, where he leads the ensemble in the performance of traditional and contemporary jazz repertoire while mentoring students in musicianship, improvisation, and ensemble leadership. In addition to his collegiate role, Dan works with David French Music, supporting music educators across Massachusetts through instrument services, advocacy, and professional collaboration.

Before joining the faculty at Endicott College, Dan was the music director at Gloucester High School. His experience as an educator at both the secondary and collegiate levels has helped to shape his teaching philosophy, emphasizing musical literacy and stylistic authenticity, while supporting lifelong enjoyment in the arts.

As a performer, Dan is an in-demand trumpet player who maintains an active schedule throughout New England. He performs regularly with a wide variety of ensembles and has developed a particular affinity for big band music, appearing with nationally and regionally recognized groups such as the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Dan Gabel and His Orchestra, BrassFed Nation, the BT/ALC Big Band, and the Cape Ann Big Band, among many others. His versatility as a musician has also led to performances in musical theatre productions across Massachusetts, including appearances at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA.

Dan spent several years at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Trumpet Performance in 2012, followed by a Master of Music in Choral Conducting in 2016. His diverse academic background reflects a broad and holistic approach to music-making, informing his work as a performer, conductor, and educator.

Dan currently lives in Beverly, Massachusetts, with his wife Jessica and their daughter Dylan. When not teaching or performing, he enjoys staying active with a round of disc golf and spending time with family and friends.
